Media Relations

At the Barton Springs–Edwards Aquifer Conservation District, I led public-facing communications while a multi-year drought gripped Central Texas. By collaborating with media outlets statewide, photographing conditions in the field, and sharing drought conditions across the District’s communications outlets, I elevated the public’s understanding of groundwater conditions and promoted water conservation strategies and long-term stewardship.

In this Fox 7 Austin interview, I spoke on behalf of the District about the aquifer approaching Stage 4 Exceptional Drought — the most severe designation in the District's nearly 40-year history. This segment was a result of a press release I published and shared with local media outlets.

KVUE invited me to share information about the District’s scholarships to Aquatic Science Adventure Camp. This was an initiative designed to foster water stewardship and conservation values in the next generation of Central Texans.

For KXAN's seasonal outlook segment, I provided insight on behalf of the District, speaking to current groundwater levels and overall aquifer health in the region.

In an interview with KVUE, I talked about the connection between drought, groundwater management, and the survival of the iconic and endangered Barton Springs salamander.
